Michael S. Anderson, CIC
President


Michael and his wife, Lissa, are both native Austinites and stay busy with their two and a half year old daughter and running their respective businesses. He has been an independent agent since 1992 and earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2007. Michael serves on the board of directors of the Independent Insurance Agents of Austin.

In addition to managing the Commercial Lines Department and co-managing the agency, Michael is very active in new business production as well as assisting his current commercial, personal and benefits clients.

When not in the office, he enjoys hunting, bay fishing and spending time with his family.

 
Nancy Heaton
Vice President


Nancy Heaton, a born and raised Austinite, is a native to the insurance world as well. She is married to Ted Heaton, a fellow native Austinite, who also works in the insurance industry. Together, Ted and Nancy have two daughters, Meredythe and Margaret. Meredythe, age 23, is currently enrolled in Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law and Margaret, age 19, is entering into her second year of undergraduate schooling at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.

Nancy has worked in the insurance field since 1981. Currently, Nancy manages the Personal Lines Department and co-manages the agency. On her free time, Nancy enjoys cheering on our Univeristy of Texas Longhorns and the fellows of the Round Rock Express Minor League Baseball team. Many evenings you can spot her circling the Hike and Bike Trail around Lady Bird Lake, while she spends her days swimming or shopping around the greater Austin area.

 
Shawna Kvalheim
Commercial Lines Account Manager


Shawna is a native Austinite and has lived in Texas for most of her life with a quick trip to California for two years. She worked for an independent agency in California that specialied in Technology business. Upon returning to Texas, Shawna joined the Anderson Insurance Partners Team. She has been in the insurance industry since 1995 and is currently working on her CISR and CIC designations.

Shawna's outside interests include shooting pool, playing computer games and spending time her new husband, Peter and their friends and family.

 
Julie LaChance
Commercial Lines Account Manager


Julie was raised in Port Neches, Texas and is a wife and a mother of two boys. She and her family relocated from Southeast Texas to Austin in 2007. She has been in the insurance industry since 1990 and her roles have varied from bookkeeper to agency owner and everything in between. As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, Julie enjoys writing new accounts and servicing our current commercial clients.

Out of the office you will find Julie reading, exploring Austin and spending time with her family and friends.

 
Shelley McKennon
Personal Lines Account Manager


Shelley is from Amarillo and moved to Cedar Park six years ago. She now cannot imagine living anywhere else. Shelley has been in the insurance industry since 1990 specializing in Property and Casualty Insurance. As a Personal Lines Account Manager, she enjoys servicing existing clients and writing new personal lines accounts.

She is married and the proud mother of 18 and 12 years old boys. In her free time, she enjoys reading, fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family.

 
Kodi Simpson
Personal Lines Account Manager


Kodi is a native Texan and has been in Austin for three years. She is a recent college graduate and enjoys working in the insurance industry. Kodi was recently promoted to the Personal Lines Account Manager position and her duties include working with prospective personal lines clients as well servicing existing personal lines clients. She is eager to learn about all aspects of the Independent Insurance Agency system.

Recently engaged, Kodi enjoys reading, the summer time, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

 
Melody Baker
Receptionist


Melody grew up in The Woodlands area and moved to Austin 8 years ago. She is a wife and mother of 4 and 7 year old girls. She is new to Anderson Insurance Partners and is currently enjoying learning all aspects of the company. She is eager to get started on learning the insurance business.

In her free time, Melody enjoys spending time with her family, photography and baking.
